PepsiCo, Inc.(NYSE:PEP) Reports Progress With Purpose 2025 Sustainability Goals

Published

on

PepsiCo, Inc.(NYSE:PEP) announced progress towards its striving Performance with Purpose 2025 sustainability objectives, reported last year. The firm improved performance against objectives in each of the Agenda’s three major areas –Planet, People and Products, while returning cash of more than $7 billion to investors during the same year.

In its recent Sustainability Report, the company also reasserted its aspiration to offer sustainable change across the firm, its value chain, the beverage and food industry, and the broad world through Performance with Purpose.

The details

Indra K. Nooyi, the CEO and Chairman of PepsiCo, expressed that last year, they recorded impressive outcome from Performance with Purpose, their vision to offer top-tier financial report over the long term in a method that’s responsive to the requirements of the world around them. Since then, they have been working hard to develop their 2025 Agenda, from making increasingly nutritious products, to restricting their environmental footprint, to empowering the communities and people where they do business. As 2017 report reveals, the company is making real, substantial progress all over the world.

PepsiCo reduced added saturated fat, sodium and sugars in its snacks and beverage portfolio volume in 2016 as against 2015 baselines. The firm also continued to move its operations towards more nutritious offerings, increasing net sales from its Everyday Nutrition portfolio to 27% of the firm’s total and delivering over 260 million servings of nourishing foods to needy communities.

PepsiCo reached 25% of its 2025 goal for yearly water replenishment, with around 2.7 billion liters locally refilled in high-water-risk watersheds. It even associated with the PepsiCo Foundation and affiliates to reach over 2 million people with nontoxic water access in last year.

Through its Sustainable Farming plan, PepsiCo involved with farmers who cultivate 34% of the plants it sources directly. This plan helps cultivators and their communities get more results of the efforts they put in while lowering greenhouse gas emissions and water usage.
