Khiron Life Sciences Corp (OTCMKTS:KHRNF) has announced that it has signed an agreement with Medlive to offer training and medical education to Medlive physicians about its medical cannabis products.
Khiron bring medical cannabis training to physicians in Brazil
Medlive is a tope distributor and marketer of pharmaceutical products to pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics across southern Brazil. Khiron director and CEO Alvaro Torres, while speaking about the deal, indicated that Brazil is an important market in Latin America that has a huge population, and medical cannabis is highly accepted in the region. Therefore the agreement with Medlive will help the company deliver education and training as well as drive the prescription of Khiron’s medical marijuana products.
Alvaro added that this will finally help the company’s objectives to offer patients in Brazil with the best medical cannabis products. The CEO indicated Medlive is a popular medical marketing company in Latin America, and it will be a perfect partner to help Khiron attain its goals.
Last year on November 29, Khiron indicated that the Colombia technical Quotas Group had given it the authorization for commercialization of high THC medical cannabis for domestic purposes as well as export even to Uruguay. In February this year, Khiron announced that it had received authorization from the Health Regulatory Agency of Brazil for the importation of its medical cannabis product for the patient in the country.
Brazil is a potential medical cannabis market
The Brazilian medical marijuana market is full of potential, and it is expected to grow to around 3.4 million patients, with the market hitting $1.4 billion in three years. This will include serving patients having chronic pain conditions. Since 2015 the number of medical cannabis requests in Brazil has almost tripled, and currently, over 1,100 physicians in the country prescribe medical marijuana.
Medlive managing director Adriana Marques indicated that with the globalization of medical cannabis legalization, including in Brazil, there is a need for trading and education about medical cannabis products to physicians. He added that when health professionals in Brazil think of medical cannabis, they are always having Khiron in mind.
